HONORARY SERVICE AWARDS

Every year, SPMS PTA honors people who have gone above and beyond to serve our school community. This year, our ceremony and luncheon will take pace on May 15th. If you know someone who you think deserves to be recognized for their service to SPMS, we ask you to please let us know by April 17th (THIS MONDAY) by submitting nominations on this form.

All funds raised will benefit the NEW SPMS wellness center & mental health programs. The SPMS wellness center is new this year and is proving to be a wonderful and much-needed resource for the students. Let’s make sure it has continued support and resources this year and into the future.

If you missed any of the TYB/ESS Parent Webinars, recordings and parent handouts may be found on the TYB web page here. Topics covered include understanding the language of behaviors, addressing stress, depression and suicide prevention.
PASADENA SHOWCASE HOUSE
4/23-5/21: VOLUNTEER FORM HERE
SPMS Athletic Boosters & Music Boosters are working together to recruit volunteers for the Pasadena Showcase House. The Athletic Boosters and Music Boosters will receive a $40 donation for each shift completed by each volunteer. Volunteers will earn one free House Tour ticket for every two shifts they complete. Volunteers will direct traffic from different assigned parts of the ouse.
We would like to gauge how many parents would be interest in volunteering. The Volunteer Form provides more info and gives interested parents the opportunity to sign up for the event.

April is National Poetry Month! And the library has quite the selection on display for everyone to check out and read. From the “teenage angst ridden poetry” of The Pain Tree, to the creepy classics of Edgar Allen Poe, there is something for everybody!
Also, the LA Times presents Festival of Books:
“The nation’s largest literary event is back with an in-person event scheduled for this spring, April 22 and 23, on the lovely campus of the University of Southern California. Join us for one-on-one conversations, exciting panels, readings by your favorite authors, musical performances, and so much more!”
